Brian has been with the firm since 2005 after beginning his legal career in Macon, Georgia in 2001 after receiving his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law.  Prior to coming to Toccoa Brian practiced four years in Macon and Warner Robins.  After joining the firm as an associate, Brian made partner in 2007.  Brian has a general practice and has experience handling matters from a broad range of practice areas.  Some of Brian’s primary practice areas include residential and commercial real estate closings and transactions, business organizations and transactions, governmental law, general civil litigation, real estate and land dispute litigation, business and corporate law, banking litigation, creditor’s rights, collections, auto accident, personal injury and wrongful death cases, wills and probate matters, and representing governmental entities, including serving as the Stephens County Attorney since 2007.  As a general practitioner Brian handles matters in most any practice areas. 

Education

Brian graduated from South Gwinnett High School in Snellville, Georgia in 1994. Brian attended the University of Georgia from 1994 until 1998 graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice Studies. Brian was recognized as a member of the National Criminal Justice Honorary Society among other academic awards and honors while at UGA. From 1998 until 2001 Brian attended the University of Alabama School of Law earning his Juris Doctorate in June of 2001. While attending the University of Alabama School of Law Brian was selected to the Law and Psychology Review as a Junior Editor. Brian passed the Georgia State Bar Exam and has been admitted to practice law as a member of the Georgia Bar since 2001.  

Courts

Brian is admitted to practice in all Courts of the State of Georgia including the Georgia Court of Appeals and Georgia Supreme Court. Brian is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Brian has successfully handled appeals in the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court. Brian has handled matters in all courts ranging from Magistrate Court to the Supreme Court of Georgia, in addition to handling matters in the federal courts. 

Family

Brian grew up in Snellville, Georgia where he met his wife, the former Dr. Allison B. David. Brian and Allison married in July of 2002. Brian’s wife Allison is a Medical Doctor and currently works as a pediatric hospitalist. In addition to enjoying time with family and friends, Brian is an avid UGA football fan and season ticket holder, a huge dog lover, enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing and hiking, live music and is active in various civic and other organizations.

  • Past Member of the Property and Finance Committee of the Stephens County Development Authority
  • Member State Ba of Georgia, including the Real Property Law Section and Local Government Section.
